Process and Business Readiness Board

A formal governance team of business leaders that oversees key program decisions, ensures readiness for change and go-live, and validates that redesigned processes deliver targeted benefits.

Details

Transformation programs often impact operations across many geographies and corporate functions.  Gaining alignment across organizational boundaries can be difficult and time consuming for program teams and leaders.

Conduit Consulting’s Process and Business Readiness Board (PRB) offering designs and implements a business-led team whose members represent each organization impacted by the program. The PRB sits outside the program, but within the program’s decision governance framework.  We facilitate the team’s activities throughout the program lifecycle.

The PRB’s responsibilities include:

  • Aligning on standardized solutions across the business

  • Confirming unique geographic or corporate function requirements

  • Making decisions on end-to-end process designs that involve trade-offs between geographic units or corporate departments

  • Endorsing operating model decisions and significant changes to employee roles and responsibilities

  • Driving adoption of program solutions within their organizations

Programs that have invested in this approach have experienced faster decision making and a high level of business adoption after go-live.

The Process and Business Readiness Board is a senior-level, cross-functional governance council that serves as the hub for all process and key business decisions during major transformations. The PRB ensures that every key business decision and process change is evaluated against enterprise transformation goals, operational realities, risk factors, and adoption readiness before implementation.  PRB members typically include a leader from each of the organizations impacted by the transformation program.

Example members include:

  • Operations and Engineering director/VP from each geographic region

  • Corporate Finance director

  • Customer Service director

  • Supply Chain director

  • Human Resources director

  • Corporate Regulatory and/or Legal director

Unlike ad-hoc approval processes, the PRB provides structured governance with clear authority, decision-making protocols, and accountability. The Process and Business Readiness Board (PRB) is active for the entire duration of a transformation program, starting at its initiation.

Core Activities:

  • Strategic Oversight: Weighs in on critical foundational business decisions, including changes to the strategic business operating model, performance objectives, or essential business-enabling technologies.

  • Design and Approval: Remains fully engaged through the program design phase, reviewing and approving process designs, as well as changes to employee roles, responsibilities, and ways of working.

  • Change Management and Adoption: Collaborates closely with the Organizational Change Management (OCM) team to prepare the organization for change, assist in planning and facilitating training, and drive business adoption.

  • Readiness Assessment: Supports the Steering Committee in evaluating the business operational preparedness for Go-Live.

  • Value Validation: Ensures value realization by validating that the redesigned processes and solutions are configured to actually deliver the targeted benefits.

Conduit Consulting works with our clients to establish the PRB's charter, design its operating model, facilitate its sessions, and embed the decision-making discipline required for large-scale change success.
